The agriculture technology company, which uses a network of sensors to collect real time farming data, on Monday said it partnered with Hong Kong-based Cyberport Incubation Programme, which supports agriculture partnerships to strengthen critical areas of need for farmers, including food security and sustainability.
“Hong Kong will serve as a springboard into underserved regions in Asia that are seeking solutions for pressing food monitoring issues,” Vincent Kimura, CEO of Smart Yields, said in a statement. “Our adaptable, multi-lingual network and app-based software platform allows small- and medium-size farmers throughout the world to easily integrate our low-cost, real-time crop-monitoring system into their operations.”
To kick off its Asia expansion, Smart Yields will host its first-ever Asia stakeholder event in Hong Kong on Tuesday.
