Pacific Business News included Smart Yields lead founder and CEO Vincent Kimura among its list of “10 People to Know” in the “Entrepreneurs” category.

Kimura was asked about his inspiration:

I trace my farming roots back to my grandfather, who first moved to Kauai from Japan to work the sugarcane fields. And my previous startup, a cleantech firm, worked closely with many small farms on adopting technology to grow with food safety and improving soil health to help grow more and waste less. I learned firsthand the challenges that small- and medium-sized farms face, and that they could be left behind as big players in the U.S. and internationally invested heavily in R&D.
